These terms apply to the Mountain Weather website and app, operated by Spatial Terrain Limited, trading as Mountain Weather. Registered in England and Wales, company number 17413034. Registered office: International House, 51 Borough High Street, London, SE1 1NB.
Forecasts are guidance
Mountain weather changes quickly and forecast data can be incomplete, delayed or wrong. Our forecasts, scores, weather windows, inversion indicators, avalanche information and notifications are planning aids, not guarantees of conditions or safety. Check current official warnings and avalanche information where available, carry suitable equipment and use your own judgement before and during any trip.
Availability
We aim to keep Mountain Weather useful and available, but we do not promise uninterrupted access or that every notification will arrive. Saved information may become out of date when a device has no connection. We may change, suspend or withdraw features when reasonably necessary.
Third-party information and bookings
Some forecasts, maps, warnings, avalanche information, accommodation results and links come from third parties. Their own terms apply. Accommodation links may be affiliate links, which means Mountain Weather may receive a commission without increasing the price you pay. Availability, prices, booking terms and the accommodation itself are the responsibility of the relevant provider.
Acceptable use and intellectual property
You may browse Mountain Weather and use its forecasts for personal trip planning. You must not misuse or interfere with the service, evade access controls or limits, systematically enumerate its pages or data, or use automated means to extract, copy, republish or build a competing dataset from Mountain Weather forecasts without our prior written permission or an applicable licence. Normal search-engine crawling that respects our published crawler controls is permitted.
Raw meteorological facts and third-party material remain subject to the rights and terms of their respective sources. Unless credited otherwise, the Mountain Weather forecasts, generated explanations, text, selection and arrangement of data, database compilation, visual presentation, software and service are owned by or licensed to Mountain Weather. You must not present any forecast as guaranteed safety advice.
API and licensed access
The website's internal data routes are not a public API. Public and commercial integration is available only through the separately controlled Mountain Weather Forecast API, after the customer accepts the applicable API terms and receives a key. The selected plan governs forecast modules, horizon, quotas, attribution, caching, permitted products and reuse. Community access includes core mountain weather only; wild-camping, climbing, named-crag and midge forecasts require a paid plan. Customers accepting a plan with required attribution agree that verified periods of unattributed display are charged at the published £150 per month attribution-free rate. Automated access outside an agreed licence is prohibited and does not grant a right to republish the data.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, Mountain Weather is not responsible for losses caused by reliance on a forecast as a guarantee, failure to check current conditions and warnings, a third-party service or booking, or use of Mountain Weather outside its intended purpose.
Law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts with authority under applicable consumer law may hear any dispute. Questions can be sent to simon@mountainweather.co.uk.
